To preserve the finish of solid wood furniture, it is important to protect it from moisture, scratches, and stains. Avoid storing pieces in areas such as basements, garages, or attics, and keep them away from heat sources. Variations in humidity and direct exposure to UV rays can damage both the wood and its finish.

Use coasters and trivets to prevent marks from hot or wet objects. Clean spills promptly with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid specialty cleaning or polishing products, as well as excessive rubbing in one area. Abrasive products and microfiber cloths should also be avoided, as they may alter the finish’s sheen.

Regular dusting is essential to prevent damage from abrasive particles. Wood should never be soaked. Use a clean, slightly damp cotton cloth to remove dust, taking care not to wet the surface. If water marks appear, wipe them immediately with a dry cloth.
